Ninth Circuit Civics Contest Focuses on JA Incarceration.
Each year, JA New York invites High School Hero youth volunteers to write an essay about their volunteer experience and enter it into our essay contest. The theme of the essay is updated each year to help guide High School Heroes in their writing. Submissions must be received within two week of the High School Heroes event.
Seeking, screening, and assisting applicants for the NAJA Scholarship Essay contest to help identify our county scholars. JA sponsors an essay contest and hosts a banquet honoring the scholars who meet the qualifications for participation. The three winners of the essay contest are awarded scholarships to the college of their choice.
The contest has two components: 1) Individual students can express their thoughts and ideas in an essay of between 500 and 1,000 words; 2) Individuals and teams of up to three students can produce a 3- to 5-minute video on the theme. A student may submit both an essay and video.
